Makovecz 90 – Angels and Architecture

4500 Ft

Description

“The exhibition Angels and Architecture celebrates the 90th anniversary of the birth of Imre Makovecz (1935–2011). Through drawings, sound effects, original audio and film recordings, music, models, and photographs, the exhibition presents the extraordinary architect’s spirit, faith, imagination, and creations.”

In connection with the exhibition, the volume Imre Makovecz – 90 – Angels and Architecture has been published, which is not a catalogue in the classical sense. Jonathan Glancey (British architectural critic and writer, editor of the volume and curator of the exhibition) seeks to capture and convey Makovecz’s spirit and worldview to readers as well as to exhibition visitors. Instead of listing the exhibited objects and installations, the catalogue features essays, recollections, archival and recent photographs, as well as drawings.

The texts, available in both English and Hungarian, are authored by Jonathan Glancey, György Szegő, Anna Makovecz, Lila Cohen, and Ágnes Kravár.
