Imre Makovecz is a passionate traveler, who has hated moving from place to place all his life. Yet he draws ships, soars to the sky and descends to the bowels of the Earth, and in his dreams, starts off for far off destinations. His drawings and montages are just as organic as his houses. Under his hands they are like clay, he recopies them, draws into them, so that we may enter a hovering, mysterious, spiritual yet distinctly earthy landscape — provided we dare.
