“The aim of the locals at the time of construction was a much more profane desire than enriching tourist destinations: they wanted a gathering place for themselves and a venue for their cultural life. They longed for something that was ultimately brought together by a series of fortunate coincidences, and which required their active participation, their constant yearning, and their intercession. For the village, deprived of development opportunities due to district reorganization, the construction meant the hope of survival and progress. The rebuilding and expansions in recent times only intensified this aspiration, encouraging further cooperation and the recollection of shared memories among the inhabitants. Slowly, the builders from forty years ago are passing away, but the number of newcomers is growing, and the mystery of the communal construction of the Village House is almost passed down from father to son.”
