Two design versions were prepared for the building. In the final version, classrooms are located around an aula that is suitable for celebrations and gatherings. This was a departure from the formerly common layout where classrooms opened from a corridor in the middle. The gymnasium would have functioned as Sárospatak’s sports hall, but eventually it was not built.

The design drawings for the vocational school for skilled workers and the sports hall in Sárospatak were prepared by Attila Turi, Lőrinc Csernyus and Tibor Bata.
