“All my life I wanted to build houses of reinforced concrete but that is not possible in Hungary. I had to understand that at a very early stage of my career. So I had to find other building materials very quickly to implement the shapes, forms and soul that I wanted my buildings to have. I wanted to build houses that would fit somewhere between Steiner’s and Speer’s buildings. I mean Speer’s bunkers built along the Normandy coastline in defence against the landings.”
The facade was made of prefab concrete blocks.
