Sárospatak, Árpád Vezér Gimnázium

Olyan alaprajzot alakítottunk ki, ahol a tantermek egy aulát vesznek körül. Ez a szerkesztés teljesen ellentétes a megszokott közép vagy oldalfolyosós iskolaszerkesztéssel. Az aulát iskolai ünnepségek céljára terveztük. Fontos megemlíteni, hogy a gimnáziumhoz csatlakozó tornacsarnok kucsfontosságú szerepet játszik a város sportéletében. Az épület mindegyik sarkára egy-egy torony került, mely a vár tornyaival kíván párbeszédet folytatni. A tornyok további jelentősége, hogy ilyesfajta vertikális hangsúly nem épült itt az elmúlt időszakban.

Sárospatak, Árpád Vezér Secondary school

The classrooms are arranged around the school’s assembly hall. This is in direct opposition to the type of design commonly used for schools, in which the classrooms are lined up along a long hallway running through the middle or side of the building. I therefore designed an aula that was meant for celebrating. It is also important to mention that the school gymnasium also doubles as the sport centre for the whole town. Each corner of the school is held in and united by the presence of four towers built to resemble the towers seen in the town’s castle. Towers generally attempt to create a kind of vertical emphasis, the like of which has not been built in a long time.
