Formailag és koncepciójában jelentősen eltér a korábbi vendéglő-tervtől és új szerkesztési elvekre épül. Egy kör alakú teraszról léphetünk be az étterem félkupola alakú terébe, ahonnan hátul a teraszra juthatunk, egy kettészakított félkupola két fele közé, egyik oldalt a fedett terasz csak egy héj, a másik oldalon a konyha negyedgömbje, amelynek homlokzata a héj tartóbordáinak síkbeli lenyomata.

Gyulavár, Restaurant

This building ushers a new period into Imre Makovecz’s career. Its structure can almost be interpreted as an illustration of a metamorphosis in the organic supporting frame. The solution of having slanting struts and rafter beams branching out of a column-as seen in earlier works-is united into a rib-like system of supports for the first time. This solution doubles as spatial support in the case of the terrace, covered by a quarter-sphere form. The confining “skin” surrounding the building is thus united to the supporting frame. As a result, organic architecture’s tectonic approach to construction reaches the climax of its own metamorphosis.
