Berhida, Vendéglő

A berhidai éttermet, Makovecz első autentikus munkáját szoros kapcsolat fűzi Steiner második Goetheaneumához. Ugyanaz az expresszív formálás. A házat mintha a belsejéből kiinduló erők alakítanák. A részletformák szinte megszemélyesítik a statikai erőket. Makovecz konkáv formát ad főhomlokzatának, ezzel hatalmas ölelő gesztussá nagyítja az épületet, egy hatalmas lény szürreális képzetévé változtatja.

Berhida, Restaurant

Imre Makovecz’s first work characteristic of his own style, the restaurant in Berhida, manifests a strong relationship to Rudolf Steiner’s second Goetheanum taking on a similar expressive form. The building appears to have been shaped by forces exploding outward from the structure’s inner core. The design elements also increase the viewer’s awareness of the strangely human characteristics evident in the building’s static forces. With his application of a concave façade, Makovecz succeeds in enlarging the building into one grand gesture of embracement, thereby transforming it into the surreal image of an enormous being.
